Καλημέρα σας. Η πραγματικότητα με εχει νικήσει κατα ένα τρόπο. Δηλαδή, βαριέμαι πλέον να συγχιστώ άλλο. Δηλαδή η τσαντίλα μου βρίσκετα πλέον στην ίδια κατάσταση με το σύμπαν πρίν το big bang. Ένα σημείο άπειρης πυκνότητας, που περιέχει τα πάντα, και γύρω γύρω τίποτα. Νιώσε λίγο. Όχι διάστημα. Όχι κενό απο ύλη. Τίποτα. Κενό χώρου και χρόνου. Απόλυτη έλλειψη τεσσάρων διαστάσεων. Αυτό μου συμβαίνει. Σήμερα δε θα πιάσω θεματική λοιπόν, γιατί πραγματικά δεν έχω κάτι να πω αυτη τη βδομάδα. Όχι, απλά θα μοιράστω ωραία πράγματα και θα βγάλω το σκασμό. The exhibition does not weigh in on whether it makes sense to feel nostalgia for time lived under repressive regimes—what is it that people long for, anyway? But perhaps that is for the best. Instead this show features work that shocks, delights and may sadden viewers. Any feelings of confusion are part of the point.

N.Y: As your title makes clear, the book emphasizes Coco Chanel’s wartime life. Why has this story not received much attention over the years?

H.V: I have no idea. I can’t figure it out. Either people didn’t want to know or chose not to deal with it. Of course, this story will not please the Wertheimers, one of the richest families in the world. Other than that, I have no idea why not.
